From a piece of moss on a wood block to 4,500+ stores

Since I was about five, I helped my dad on construction sites. He taught me hard work and creative thinking, and sparked my love of woodworking and inventing. — Lucas, founder

After high school I worked as a labourer and machine operator. One thing stuck with me: how much good wood was thrown out every day.

Fixing my car one fall, I noticed moss growing on a wood block. I carved the word CREATE and a heart into scrap wood and filled them with moss. Friends wanted one, and Mossify began.

Three months after starting, Covid hit. We kept building anyway, and launched Mossify with wood moss art, apparel and raw moss.

Every moss pole was straight, but plants don't grow at 90°. Into bonsai at the time, I wanted to shape plants the same way. The first prototype became the patented Bendable Moss Pole™, launched June 28, 2020.

Demand outgrew one person, so friends joined the team. In 2021 we moved out of Lucas's garage into our first warehouse and launched the Bendable Coir Pole™.

Retailers voted us a TPIE Cool Product award, and we faced the Dragons on Dragons' Den and walked out with a deal.

We're proud to work with family-run garden centres and plant shops across North America, now 4,500+ of them.

We bought a property that's perfect for growing moss, then launched Revita-Moss™, our live Canadian moss, and Landscape Moss for large projects.
